Interior Renovation in Dubai
Design-and-build interior works for homes and offices: ceilings, partitions, floors, joinery, lighting and paint, planned and built by one licensed team.
What our interior renovation in Dubai covers
An interior renovation in Dubai sits somewhere between decorating and a full rebuild. The structure stays and the rooms change: a partition comes out, a ceiling drops to hide new lighting, worn floors are replaced, and storage gets built in where furniture used to be. REDO works on a design-and-build basis, so the people who draw the plan are the same people who build it. That matters when a ceiling hides sprinklers or a new wall needs power. We work in villas, apartments and offices, on a single room or a whole floor.
How an interior renovation works
- First call or WhatsApp. Tell us which rooms you want to change and send a few photos.
- Survey and brief. We measure, check ceilings, walls and services, and talk through how you use each space.
- Design and estimate. You get a layout, a finishes plan, a free estimate and a programme.
- Approvals. We confirm what your building, community or authority needs before work is booked.
- Works and handover. Strip-out, services, ceilings and partitions, floors, joinery, paint and a final walk-through with you before handover.
Approvals for interior works
Small cosmetic jobs, such as painting or changing light fittings, usually need no permit. Work that changes walls, ceilings, partitions, flooring in larger units, electrics or plumbing needs approval before it starts.
Which authority approves the work depends on where the property is: Dubai Municipality, the Dubai Development Authority, Trakhees or the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority. If a new ceiling or partition touches fire alarms, sprinklers or escape routes, Civil Defence requirements apply.
For office interiors in DDA zones, the contractor applies for a fit-out permit with the landlord's NOC and the tenancy (Ejari). Our guide to renovation permits in Dubai explains who approves what.
What affects the cost of an interior renovation
We price each interior renovation from its survey. There is no rate card, and the main drivers are:
- Floor area and the number of rooms. More rooms means more ceilings, floors and paint.
- How much changes. A repaint and new floors is a different job from moving partitions and rewiring.
- Finishes. Natural stone, solid wood and custom joinery cost more than standard ranges.
- Ceilings and lighting. Bulkheads, coves and a dense lighting layout add work and materials.
- Services behind the walls. Moving sockets, data points or AC grilles adds trades to the job.
- Access and timing. Building working hours, lift bookings and people still living or working in the space all affect how the job is planned.
After the survey you get a free estimate. For the wider picture, see how renovation costs are worked out in Dubai.
How long an interior renovation takes
It depends on how many rooms change and how much. A full apartment renovation takes 2 weeks–3 months. A kitchen on its own takes 2–6 weeks and a bathroom 1–3 weeks. For other interior work, such as ceilings, floors or joinery in a few rooms, we give you a programme with the estimate and agree it before work starts. Approvals come first, so allow for them separately.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between renovation and refurbishment?
Refurbishment refreshes what is there: new paint, new floors, repaired joinery. Renovation goes further and changes how the space works, for example moving partitions, adding a ceiling with new lighting or rebuilding a kitchen. Many interior projects are a mix of both.
What's the difference between renovation and remodeling?
Renovation improves or updates your existing space without major structural changes. Remodeling changes the layout or structure to create a different design or function.
What kinds of spaces do you renovate?
Villas, townhouses, apartments and offices. Interior work covers single rooms, such as a bedroom or a living area, as well as whole floors.
Can I stay in my home during an interior renovation?
Often, if the work can be planned room by room so part of the home stays usable. Dust, noise and building working hours all play a part. We tell you at the survey whether staying in makes sense for your scope.
Can you modernise an older interior?
Yes. Typical changes are new ceilings with modern lighting, updated wiring and sockets, new floors, fitted storage and a fresh colour scheme. We check the condition of the services first, because older wiring or pipework is better replaced while the walls and ceilings are open.
Do I need an interior designer or a renovation contractor first?
If you want a fully styled scheme, a designer can lead and we build it. If you mainly need the space to work better, a design-and-build team like ours can plan the layout and finishes and then carry out the work as one job.
Do you renovate offices too?
Yes. We renovate office interiors as well as homes: ceilings, partitions, flooring, lighting and joinery. Offices in DDA zones need a fit-out permit with the landlord's NOC and the tenancy (Ejari), and other buildings have their own rules. Our office renovation page covers this in more detail.
Which interior works need a permit in Dubai?
Painting and changing light fittings usually need none. Changes to walls, ceilings, partitions, flooring in larger units, electrics or plumbing need approval before they start, and the approving authority depends on where the property is. We check what applies at the survey.
How much does an interior renovation cost in Dubai?
It depends on the floor area, how much changes, the finishes, the ceilings and lighting, and the work behind the walls. We don't publish prices. After a survey we give you a free estimate for your scope.
Is the work covered after handover?
Yes. Your project comes with a 1-year warranty on key installations.
